Fencer Shoutouts

We have a couple shoutouts for fencers that did something exceptional during the tournament.

First of all, Ada F. was so close to winning her whole pool. All of her bouts went to 4-4 except one, which went to 4-3!

Charlie H. wins the positive attitude award for Y10 Mixed. He was so cheerful and displayed great sportsmanship against every opponent.

On Saturday, Belle D. couldn’t stop smiling through her mask the entire time she was competing.

William R. wins the comeback award, scoring 9 points in the second half of his DE bout in Y12 Mixed against Greg. S.

There was no one more cool, calm, and collected throughout the weekend than Audrey I.

Hudson P. stepped outside his comfort zone for his first tournament and even won a pool bout!

Ruckus J. kept us laughing by being a great teammate to his friends and drawing a unicorn to sign his score sheets.

Greg H. and James H. were definitely showing the brotherly love and supported each other through both of their events.

Emma B. was dissatisfied with her Y14 Mixed performance, asked for critical feedback, and applied it in the Y12 Mixed, winning all her pool bouts and ultimately placing 3rd.

Ruckus J.’s signature unicorn.

Acknowledgements

Huge thank you to the parents (Heather B. and Amber S.) who helped us through hiccups such as a missing charge cord for the bout committee laptop and our printer not working. We couldn’t have run the tournament as effectively without your help!

Huge thanks to the parents who took pictures during the events, Amber S. and Todd H.

As always, thank you to our referees, Nick C. and Tyler B.

Our top finalists from the Senior Mixed: Spencer B., Tyler B., and Jonathon H.
