5th Annual Don Bone Classic: Apr. 7, 2024

Finalists in Y12 Mixed Saber all point to Gregory S.’s so-called lucky Crocs.

This past Sunday, 11 of our fencers competed in Wentzville at the 5th Annual Don Bone Classic. We competed in three different events: Y12 Mixed, Senior Women’s, and Senior Mixed.

First Time Competitors

At this away tournament, only one fencer was new to competition: Maude J. who competed in the Y12 Mixed! She got points on everyone in her pool, which was fantastic since she was fencing up an age category.

Fencer Shoutouts

Caden B. had an extremely tough pool but walked away with a win, and showed great movement on strip.

Lucy F. and Lillian S. showed great sportsmanship and camaraderie as teammates and competitors.

Maude J. took the brave first step into competition by fencing an age up and at an away tournament.

Gregory S. was a leader and helped Charlie H. and Maude J. warm up before the tournament.

Zachary B. fenced an age category up and held his own against a tough Y12 crowd.

Audrey I. had nerves of steel throughout the tournament.

Alisa B. showed great progress with making strong attacks and good tactical decisions.
